Google is planning to launch its Google Lens product in India by the end of the year, its chief executive, Sundar Pichai, said on Thursday.
Google said on Wednesday it was working on the hardware for a “major launch” in India.
Pichae told a briefing that the company would launch Google Glass and Google Lens by the middle of the next year.
The company had planned to launch Glass in China, Brazil, Russia, India and the US by 2020, Pichay said, but the company has been delayed by problems with shipping the products to those markets.
He said that Google’s focus now is to ship to customers in India “as quickly as possible” to ensure its product “satisfies the Indian consumer”.
Google Glass is a camera lens that can take photos with a small camera and a small flash, similar to what is used by the iPhone and Android phones.
